Being Deliberate About Creating The Life You Want

I just reread yesterday’s blog post.  

Why is being deliberate such a big deal and what does it have to do with life after separation and divorce?

Here’s what I know to be true…

Creating an amazing life doesn’t just happen with the flick of switch.  It’s a process.  One step at a time.  One deliberate step at a time.

If I want an amazing life, I need to make choices each day that will contribute to it.  I need to BE deliberate.  I can’t just do the first thing that pops into my mind – especially when I’m trying to break old habits that I know don’t contribute to an amazing life.

I need to be DELIBERATE in deciding how to spend my time each day.  Asking myself whether this particular thing is truly what I want to do in that moment.  Canvassing all of my options and picking the best one for me, at this time.  

It’s not about getting it right every single time – it’s about making better choices more often, so that when you look back on your day and assess it, you see progress.  

If you see that particular choice didn’t serve you well one day, then you make a mental note of it and maybe you’ll choose differently next time you’re faced with the same option.  

When you start to make better choices, you’ll feel good about yourself, you’ll feel empowered and you’ll realize that you’re in control of more than you thought.  

When you start to see results – that the choices you’re making really are getting you closer to your goals - you will begin to know that you are capable and worthy of an amazing life.  

And that knowing will only lead to better choices more often, with less effort.  Before you know it, you will start to naturally gravitate towards better choices because they resonate with you – it becomes who you are, not just what you “should” do.  

And before long, you will have created an amazing life…one deliberate choice at a time.

So, yes, let's be DELIBERATE in 2017. xo
